In line with its commitment to excellence in technology, management, innovation and societal transformation, the Universal Technology and Management University (UTAMU) proposes to host the 2026 International Conference on Technology and Management (ICTM) under the theme: “Responsible Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Digital Transformation”. This event will provide a global platform for scholars, policymakers, business leaders, innovators and development practitioners to share knowledge, present research and explore collaborative strategies for the responsible use of AI and emerging technologies for sustainable development.

The conference strongly supports the vision of becoming a leading centre of excellence in technology, management and innovation, as well as the mission of promoting knowledge creation and innovation that contribute to societal transformation and sustainable development. By convening leading scholars, practitioners and policymakers, the conference will:
- promote cutting-edge research in technology and management; and
- support knowledge-driven innovation ecosystems
- strengthen partnerships between universities, businesses, industries, and governments

Students’ Participation
Conference committee highly encourages doctorate (PhD) and postgraduate students to present their research proposal, or literature review, or findings, or issues in this conference. Undergraduate students can ONLY attend academic conferences if (a) his/her research is funded by an organisation/institute, and/or (b) supervised by the member or faculty, and/or (c) co-authored by a Master’s student. Otherwise, undergraduate students can only attend a conference as a listener without presenting paper.
Objective
The overall objective of International Conference on Technology and Management (ICTM) is to provide a platform and stimulate discussion on key issues in the fields of Technology and management, as well as to encourage research and discussion surrounding these areas.
Conference objectives
The general objective is to provide an international, interdisciplinary platform for dialogue, the dissemination of research, and collaboration on responsible artificial intelligence and emerging technologies for sustainable digital transformation.
The specific objectives are:
- Examining the ethical, legal and governance frameworks necessary for the responsible development and deployment of AI and emerging technologies.
- Explore the transformative role of AI and digital technologies in education, research and innovation ecosystems.
- Strengthen dialogue between academia, industry, government and civil society on digital transformation and technological governance.
- Promoting research and innovation in emerging technologies, including data science, cybersecurity, fintech, blockchain and smart systems.
- Explore the role of AI and digital technologies in addressing sustainable development challenges, including health, agriculture, climate change and urbanisation.
- Building networks and partnerships that foster collaborative research, technology transfer and digital innovation in Africa and globally.
- Developing policy recommendations for governments and institutions on responsible AI governance and digital transformation strategies.
Why ICTM
The consequences of shortages of research and innovation, especially in the fields of technology and management is under publication and a vicious recycling of often unusable knowledge. A priority to mitigate these problems is research to investigate and develop systems that lead to an improvement in technology and management. The establishment of the conference series on Technology and Management shall stimulate an exchange of research findings and ideas that contribute to innovation and development to bring about better livelihoods. Thus, the International Conference on Technology and Management proceedings aim at strengthening.
